You totally got the info in your link wrong. It suggests that IF you have kidney failure (already), THEN you shouldn't consume Taurine.

If you have kidney failure, there are a lot of things that are going to cause problems, including the kidney failure itself.

On the other hand, yes it is potentially harmful to believe marketing that a person can play armchair doctor with their supplements merely because they aren't prescription medications and not regulated.

In general energy drinks are bad news for your health, but since they're largely marketed and consumed by younger people, the negative effects can go unnoticed for longer.
