60w is good for garage door openers and low lighting needs.... these manufacturers need to step up and give us reasonably priced 75, 100 and 150 watt led bulbs already... the 2700-2900k variety that shine light with normal warm color like normal incandescent bulbs. 3000k+ and you'll feel like you're living in a gymnasium or supermarket with unnatural and sterile bluish white light.
Barryk, I can't use fluorescent or LED bulbs in my garage door opener because the RF interference blocks usage of the opener for the duration of time the light is on.
swreynolds. that's interesting. I use LED bulbs in my genie excelerator 1hp screwdriver and have no probs. I wonder if this issue is brand specific, or perhaps based on the location of the antenna relative to the bulb.

Our local Shop Rite had them for 99 cents last week, too. Sylvania brand.
For most of us, lighting is a very small fraction of our power usage.
Thank you!
