Before buying 8 pounds of this, keep in mind that flaxseed meal has a much shorter shelf life than whole flaxseeds.

You could probably figure out some kind of cream of flaxseed breakfast dish. I find it decent for higher texture thickening and/or moisture absorption in things like chili, soups, or meat loaf without the extra slimy texture that too much oats or bread adds.

high heat damages the nutrients in flaxseed. It does make a good substitute for eggs in microwave muffin-in-a-cup.
