1. Made of heavy-gauge resins.

2. This may be just OK, but only if U are going to use it standing up 'cuz there would not be any room to slide under it to use it sitting down.

I've put together my bench using a commercial quality steel frame with laminated plywood sheets for a top. Probably last forever unless abused.

The are great kits. I own a few of their bench and picnic table kits. Easy to put together. Just add PT wood.
