Link says offer needs to be redeemed through the Chromecast app on either iOS or Android. I went into the app on my android device and no such offer existed. I think tried to look for the offer in my work phone (iOS) and still no offers for $20 credit exist.
I bought two Chromecasts at Costco on Black Friday for 48.99. I activated one of them a couple of days ago.
I just followed the "Google Play" link above (repeated below), and selected "Redeem", then the "Buy a Chromecast and get $20 ..." offer. It just credited my Google account with $20, I've confirmed it using the link below:
TWO THUMBS DOWN ON It said there were 6 in stock at my closest store. After I placed the order, it said order cancelled because of out of stock. I went to order again to pick up at another store, and it said coupon code 96181 was already redeemed. Chatting with customer service was horrible. I'm sick of dealing with offshore non-Americans. I'd rather pass on the "deal" and keep my money than put up for another minute with these rude, combative offshore jerks-offs.
Ordered 2 with the stackable codes ($20 off total) yesterday. Received email from 8 minutes after ordering stating that 1 or more items are unavailable for store pickup although there were 2 in stock when purchasing. Called local store 2 hours later..no order for me...still waiting for cancellation or confirmation email. Obviously is not prepared to offer such deals. I knew there was a reason I never shop there.

Costco states there is a $6 credit for each one too. Did you get both codes, the $6 and $20 google credits?
I didn't try. I strongly suspect that only one of the two can be redeemed: either the $6 or the $20, but not both. I plan to activate the other one later this week, so I'll take a closer look then.
Been using an original version of the Chromecast since 2013 - these things are great!
If the offer does not show up after activating the unit, turn power off for 30 seconds then restart both the unit and the app. The offer will then show up in Chromecast under offers.
I bought mine from online, and picked up in store for $25 . Then I signed up for text messages and got code for $5 off of $25. I chatted with CS, and they used my code and issued $5 refund. Net Cost $21.35 .
Ok. I wasn't seeing the $20 offer at first but it was because the chromecast wasn't listed under devices. My phone and chromecast were on two different bands on my router. Got them on the same band and the device and offer showed up. Have $20 in my play account now

BB has a 2-pack for $55 currently, with the same $20 Play credit promo. To me, that's the better deal.
