Update: Costco has a 2-pack for $49 + $3 nonmember surcharge = $52 with free shipping. Thanks, GGLONG!

Staples has the Google Chromecast 2nd Generation Streaming Media Player (Black, GA3A00093) for $35. Add two to cart to reach $70 - $15 off with coupon code 16250 in cart = $55 with free shipping to store.

IMO, these are limited in what I originally thought it could do. Doesn't really work with passive speakers but can work great if you have active speakers or cut the cord to the receiver. Hoping to see what else it can do later on.

Wouldn't you be able to visit the same link OP posted for the $20 dollar credit on this one?

Wonder why Costco's page currently only says "$6 Google Play Credit for each Chromecast"

^ GGLONG yes, and I actually just bought 2 at Costco with that same deal recently.
Interestingly it reads in that sale: "Includes a Digital Downloadable $6 Google Play Credit for each Chromecast".
I'm guessing Google just recently decided to increase the credit to $20/Chromecast - which makes these a real bargain. I'll be activating mine soon, to confirm that.

majbrownman: Note that there are now 2 versions of the Chromecast: the Video/HDMI version, and the Chromecast Audio, which is designed to work with active speakers or an amplifier. Details here: https://www.google.com/intl/en_us/chromecast/

Pretty awesome deal. For me it's a no-go, already paying for
Amazon
Prime (on top of cable for the sports) so I'll stick with something that supports that.

What are you talking about? Are you thinking of Chromecast Audio which is a different product?

Bought in a local costo.

Tried to redeem using the chromecast app but it says $6 play credits instead. Anybody knows how to redeem $20?

note, some outlets are reporting that you cannot, on the same account, get $20 credits:

"EDIT 2: We originally thought you could buy two Chromecasts and get $20 for each device, but Google says you are limited to "one per Google Payment account." Full terms here."

this is misleading. I just bought this from costco and when i tried to redeem it, I can only redeem $6 credit per device not $20. To qualify for the $20 credit, you have to purchase it from the google store.

The costco 2 pack is only eligible for 2 $6 credits, $12 total.

I'm going to return mine, it's not a good deal with just the $12 refund. I should have done the
Staples
deal.
