100W aren't so easily done with drop-ins because the whole fixture has to be engineered with heat shedding in mind, particularly when placed between floors where there's limited air space or on top floors where they are covered in insulation.
With regular incans it's a matter of total heat including not tripping the thermal breaker but on LED it's also the bulb itself even though they run at a much lower power level... yet are much less immune to heat.
