You're right Solow.
Instead I bought it for $1.97 from a seller in Hong Kong. No need to support Ritz if they are being unscrupulous.
Just search for "Car Seat Gap" you fill find tons of them for sale under $2 shipped. The one I linked above is the currently cheapest price $1.99 shipped for Quantity 2.
I love to order this stuff shipped from China. You forget all about it and then one day (3 weeks in the future) you get a package and ask youself? What the heck is this?

Meh, when I was a child my mother made all kinds of stuff like this to drape all over the car when we went on road trip vacations.
Too much prior art, don't think they're entitled to a corner on the market.
^ I don't really believe in the whole "authorized" thing so long as Ritz didn't buy stolen items on the black market. In other words once Drop Stop sells them to someone, who are they to influence whether that buyer can resell to anyone they want to?
Otherwise a manufacturer may just offload surplus stock at a discount then not authorize the seller so they don't have warranty coverage expenses for this discounted merchandise.
That IS something to keep in mind if you think you might need the warranty later, but with this item what could go wrong? Stitching comes out and you need to spend a minute with thread and a needle? To me that would be less hassle than contacting them and mailing it to them.
Other times the items may be blemished/seconds and that gets more annoying to me IF the seller doesn't disclose that.
I have had my phone lost in there so many times and have wasted so much time trying to get it out. These would come handy. Looking at the design, why couldn't I just use window air conditioner insulating strip for much cheaper instead?

You missed the point, Ritz is selling the official "Drop Stop" item but is not authorized to do so.
