I agree with you, if you buy software it shouldn't expire! All these subscription based softwares are pushing me towards open source (Ubuntu / Linux) more and more. Already replaced two of my systems with open source systems instead. Not missing Windows much!

ANSWER: Affinity Photo public beta for Windows was just released today, the first REAL alternative to Photoshop ... NOT subscription software.
